The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and the State of Hawaii established a Cooperative Agreement to support a broad spectrum of research in ocean sciences in the State of Hawaii and to provide support for CEROS (the National Defense Center of Excellence for Research in Ocean Sciences).

The objectives of the CEROS program are:

  1. Focus a core technical program on maritime military technology needs,
  2. Facilitate innovative technical development and demonstrations,
  3. Solicit and support technically important projects with transition potential,
  4. Enhance sustainable commercial technology capabilities in Hawai'I,
  5. Maintain program quality, control costs, and deliver results, and
  6. Support the development of the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii Authority (NELHA)

CEROS solicits and supports innovative technologies for national maritime military applications and sustained technology-based economic development in Hawai'i. To those ends, CEROS is pleased to present the following solicitation for projects to be funded under the FY06 Core technical program.
